appointment update 15w4d

I had a 3 hour appointment with the high risk (maternal-fetal medicine) docs. Seriously.

I met with the doctor. I had an ultrasound. I met with a dietician. I was trained on how to test my blood sugars.

Well, as I mentioned before, I flunked the 1 hr glucose tolerance test. Since I had blood sugar issues prior to pregnancy, they decided to go ahead and just call me a diabetic. Meh. So now I'm on a restricted diet + need to pick up my monitoring stuff. Meh. This is going to be tough with a house full of Girl Scout cookies and Easter candy. Uh huh.

The baby cracked me up in the ultrasound. They did measurements of legs, arms, head, nuchal scan neck thingy, bladder, etc. Too early to look at the heart yet. Heart rate was 162. Baby was laying sideways and moving CONSTANTLY so it was hard to get shots. The ultrasound probably lasted an hour itself! Baby would not reveal to us what the sex is, but at one point had hands between the legs. They said it's a boy or a modest girl. Who knows! Guess we'll find out in another month.

I have some cute pictures that I need to get scanned. Alexi enjoyed looking at the pictures. :P It's becoming more real for all of us!

Oh oh oh! And have been feeling movement for a little over a week now, and much stronger this week than last week. I had suspected it was baby, but no 100%, but after the ultrasound and watching/feeling, well, it was definitely little Jar Jar.
