8w4d OB appointment

Well, it wasn't *quite* what I expected. They received the report from the fertility doctor, so they only had a few questions. We discussed pre-existing conditions and care for those, so I will also be seeing the high risk doctors (MFM-Maternal/Fetal Medicine) in addition to my OB for regular care.

My weight was, well, it just was. It was high before and it hasn't gone up so that's good. Blood pressure was a little high, but nothing to freak out over yet. I was checked for spilling proteins and sugars, both were negative. I also had 5 vials of blood drawn. Apparantly I missed my yearly well woman exam, so they had to do that today.

They didn't want to perform an u/s but I strongly argued my point. I told them I'm high strung and paranoid anyway right now after spotting, but that combined with my previous pregnancy problems, I needed reassurance that all was fine. It was. The doctor is not so good with the sonogram machine, so the picture I have is meh at best. I didn't care about the picture, just to see the little one looking bigger than last time, with a heart beat was reassurance for me.

He also said that at this point in the pregnancy, with two ultrasounds with heartbeats, that we have a 96% chance of a successful outcome. Sure, I could be in that 4%, but odds are much higher in our favor that we're fine. So I will do my best not to stress out.

I have an appointment on 1/9 (Monday) with the MFM docs.
I have an appointment for an official ultrasound on 1/24 where they will do measurements.
And a nurse practitioner appointment on 2/10 for more blood work or something.

I think I will like this OB. He's the son of my OB that I had when I had Alexi. He's a handful of years older than Ed and I. Great sense of humor/bed side manner. We're in good hands.
